2020 a year of instability and chaos, the only things that were reliable and relatable between us are these objects; screens, masks, empty toilet rolls, unusually clean workspaces. Within these pieces, I aim to highlight the things that we can all hold on to as symbols of certainty in a new age of teams meetings and online shops, what once was the everyday and overlooked is now all we can stare at and all we can consume.

I wanted to communicate my frustration with feeling lost within art and also share how lockdown has affected me, to do this I decided on painting my immediate surroundings, drawing on them to find inspiration within the mundane every day, by doing a series of observational oil paintings.
