Libby Firth

Through this body of work I wanted to express feelings that can be difficult to describe with words such as stress or anxiety, feelings that have been heightened by the instability and uncertainness of the current situation we are living in. I created almost 30 separate pieces that, when put together, look like one large piece that encloses the viewer giving them an almost overwhelming feeling. Each piece is created in charcoal with differing levels of detail, some are very harsh and messy looking and some more realistic, showing how my emotions changed depending on how comfortable I was when creating each piece. None of the figures in the pieces show full faces or identifying features to keep a level of anonymity, as I wanted everyone to relate to my work in their own way.
